OF&G audit success for Sittingbourne

Posted on February 20, 2024

We are pleased to announce that our Sittingbourne site has been granted ‘organic status’ for another 12 months, with no non-conformances, following a recent audit.

The audit was conducted by OF&G (Organic Farmers & Growers), a UK organic certification body which certifies more than half of the UK’s organic land, and provides support, information, and licensing to Britain’s top organic food businesses.

The certificate of conformance certifies us for the following organic enterprises:

  • Grading
  • Packaging
  • Distribution
  • Storage
  • Warehousing.

And for the following organic products:

  • Bananas
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries
  • Apples
  • Pears.

The auditor commented that “The site [Sittingbourne] shows a high level of technical and hygiene management and no foreseeable risk to organic integrity.”

The Sittingbourne team demonstrated great teamwork, with specific acknowledgement to the following colleagues who supported the audit:

  • Aiga Daudzvarde
  • Craig Hayes
  • Valentino Kareem
  • Wayne Riordan
  • Stephen Roberts
  • Gulfraz Younis

Neil Mawhinney, Manager – Quality Assurance, Sittingbourne said: “My thanks and congratulations to everyone involved at our Sittingbourne site for helping us to continue to achieve our audit successes. Your hard work and effort continue to pay off.”
